Queen Bee At Work
Momma has been a busy Queen Bee today! I’ve been procrastinating on updating the look and feel of the site because I was absolutely in love with it, however, it was way too dark. The kind of thing that appeals to musicians only (we like black, what can I say?). So, without any further ado this is the unveiling of the new look of RaeOvSun!
Now that I have everything visually up to par it will be much easier for me to complete updates and blog away as I won’t have that looming fear of how it will look once I hit the post button. Be prepared for a flooding of the gates!
I’m learning in my adulthood to step out of my comfortable little box and to take charge. One of the things that I have always strayed away from is self-promotion. I have a gang of talented friends around me and I will broadcast their creative endeavors to no end. When it comes to mine though I shrink to the size of Thumbelina and…
…Um, yes, I published a book a long time ago. You can look it up on Amazon. It was pretty good but I don’t talk about it much [insert rant of terrible self-ridicule]
NO MORE! The change in me is this. “HEY! HEY YOU! I JUST RELEASED MY SECOND NOVEL! IT IS EPIC! YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE EBOOK OR PURCHASE THE PAPERBACK TODAY!” *walks away then turns around* “OH WAIT! DID I TELL YOU HOW MANY READS IT HAS THUS FAR? GET YOURS! DO IT!”
All of that said to redirect you to that gorgeous ad up there. Click it.
So all of this fancy growth…Step 1 being proud of the work that you have done and your accomplishments. I put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into not only writing this novel but also editing, taking in the opinions of beta readers, formatting, designing, etc. The horn must now be tooted. Whatever it is that you’ve been giving your all into, you should be proud of it. Don’t be ashamed of it, don’t hide it, be confident enough to know that it is amazing and it is worth the attention. Just like you. *winks*
Step 2 that I am forever growing and evolving into is BEING AN EFFECTIVE BOSS. You have your natural-born leaders and I can present as well as the next guy but we all have our shortcomings. I’m extremely against confrontation. That means that I’d rather be your friend as opposed to the one slamming the gavel down and writing you up. I’ve learned a lot, literally, in the past few weeks about myself and how I am as a leader. I understand more thoroughly the need to put rules into place, expectations, and structure. I didn’t need it before I moved into my current role. Lone wolf over here! *howls to the moon* However, how you operate is not necessarily how you should lead. I’ve had to learn to be more hands on when in the past I’ve been very hands off.
This is what I need done by you on this date.
#BossB!tch over here! (But, yo, I’m still the homey when we punch out, okay, bye!)
I’m taking charge of my life, my day job, and the two careers that I no longer refuse to moonlight in when they are my true passion! Are you ready to do the same?
